Hamilton Island

Australia

Where untouched island beauty meets absolute refinement. A flawless gateway to the rhythm of the Whitsunday archipelago.

Hamilton Island sits at the edge of the Whitsundays, close enough to the reef that a morning at anchor and an afternoon on the sand belong to the same day. Charter from here and the archipelago opens up: seventy-four islands, fringing coral, and long stretches of quiet water between them. Days are shaped by the tide and the light. Anchor off Whitehaven at first light while the sand is still empty, cross to a coral garden through the middle of the day, then settle into a sheltered bay as the sun drops. Dinner is unhurried, the water still.

A WEEK IN THE WHITSUNDAYS

Four days from Hamilton Island, shaped around the reef, the sand and the quiet anchorages between. Every itinerary is drawn to the charter — this is the outline our concierge begins from.

  1. DAY ONE

    Arrival — Catseye Bay

Board at the marina, lunch underway, and a first swim off Catseye Bay. Sunset at anchor with the island’s hills behind you.

  2. DAY TWO

    Whitehaven & Hill Inlet

Seven kilometres of pure silica sand. Walk the Hill Inlet lookout at low tide, then a long afternoon on the beach with the tender running guests ashore.

  3. DAY THREE

    The Outer Reef

An early passage to Hardy Reef. Snorkel or dive the wall, lunch on deck over turquoise water, and back through the islands by dusk.

  4. DAY FOUR

    Butterfly Bay & Return

A slow morning in the north — Butterfly Bay’s coral gardens — before the run home. Farewell lunch on the aft deck as Hamilton Island comes back into view.

ON THE WATER

A charter through the Whitsundays moves at the pace you set. Snorkel a reef in the morning, walk the sand at Whitehaven, or hold in a quiet bay while lunch comes together on deck. The crew know these waters — the anchorages, the reef edges, the run of the weather — and shape each day around them.
